Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment)

About Edgar Cayce

  • Edgar Cayce was a psychic diagnostician who lived in the early 1900s.
  • Cayce needed only the name of the person requesting help, and the physical address of where the person would be at the time of the reading. He was able to do a complete medical diagnosis.
  • While Cayce was in this hypnotic state, he was clairvoyant, and was able to access an unlimited amount of information on a variety of subjects. His psychic gift was extraordinary.
  • At the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, Virginia (the A.R.E.), also known as the Edgar Cayce Foundation, there are 14,000 documented files on the work that Cayce did throughout his life. These files are called “Readings.”
  • From 1923, Cayce readings included spiritual counseling and guidance. While in a trance state, he started to talk about reincarnation.
  • In 1931, a small group of people asked Cayce for readings on spiritual development. In a trance state, he told the group to apply in their everyday lives the information which he was being given, and then to report on their personal experiences regarding these applications.
  • Out of this project came a series of 131 readings and two books called A Search for God, which are based on the information received and the group’s experience in applying these teachings. The texts are a vehicle to help participants grow spiritually, both individually and within a group context.

These books helped me to grow spiritually and to learn to love myself. I began to understand that we are not alone. I learned to use my intuition to make better choices in my life. Finally, I learned that there is a divine spark without each of us and that we all have a unique path to take. I learned to trust this spark within and to follow my heart.
